Thankful

Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You.

Psalm 143: 8 NKJV

Somedays, I must admit, it is difficult not to be ruled by my emotions. However, I must ask myself, “How can you discount the evidence in front of you and be ruled by what you feel?” I am thankful that I KNOW God is real, I KNOW He loves me, I KNOW He has plans for me, I KNOW He has purpose for my life, I KNOW He is the great healer. If I believe, “In the beginning God created”, then I MUST believe everything else that follows, no matter the circumstances of life around me.

Sometimes this world lands us in chaos, but God is not the author of confusion and He longs to bring us peace and comfort. He affirms us and reaches out to us in so many ways. He uses, the beauty He has created around us:

Sunsets and Sunrises

Oceans and Seas

Mountains and Valleys

Foreign Lands and Backyards

Flowers and Forests

He uses people and relationships He moves in and out of our lives:

Husbands and Friends

Parents and Children

Natural and Church Families

Acquaintances and Forever Friends

All of these are used to show us who He is and how much He loves us. He is trustworthy, even when this world or our circumstances want us or lead us to believe otherwise.

He is Glorious

He is Magnificent

He is Righteous

He is Holy

He is Almighty

He is Redeemer

“As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.” Job 19:25

So, I am trusting in His amazing grace now; and knowing that He is faithful, unfailing, and the lover of my soul.

Sisters, if this is not where you are this holiday season, emotionally. Speak God’s Word of truth over your life. The emotions that can overrun us during this new season of life can be compounded by holidays. Don’t let emotions steal your joy. Happiness is dependent upon us and circumstances around us but joy, real joy, comes from the Lord and is only dependent upon our relationship with Him. Cry out and ask Him to be Lord or your life, if you have not. Cry out and ask Him to refresh you, if you need it. Cry out and praise Him, even in the midst of the storm, if you are in it. Cry out and give Him THANKS, no matter where you are or what you feel. God has you. He loves you and He longs to show you just how much.

God,

We are grateful for the gift of our salvation. We are thankful that You will redeem our lives and that when all is said and done, You will stand triumphant over all. To You alone be ALL glory, honor, and praise. Amen!
