El Shaddai-the Almighty, the All Sufficient One

Worshipping with all our Might!

Ladies, I am so excited to announce starting today our Sunday posts will be focused on leading us in a special time of Worship. As widows, we have the opportunity and the privilege of walking with God in a deeper and more intense relationship than we ever have before. Please join us each Sunday as we worship Him with all our might!

Our first Worship Series will be focused on the Names of God. Today, we start with El Shaddai.

El Shaddai – the Almighty, the All Sufficient One

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High

will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

                                                                Psalm 91:1

Lord, we enter your gates with Thanksgiving. You are the God Most High, our El Shaddai, the God Almighty. You are the All Sufficient One. Lord, we seek you with all of our hearts, so we may praise you with all of our might.

What a great truth in Psalm 91:1, when we live in communion with God we are constantly safe under His protection. Sisters, one of the beautiful blessings that can come from this journey is the clarity with which we see this truth played out in our lives.

El Shaddai. The Name of God I was teaching my Monday night Bible study group when the patrolmen knocked on the door to tell me my husband had been killed by a drunk driver.

That very night, in a way I never imagined, He showed me He is El Shaddai -The All Sufficient One. He has prepared me for this part of the journey long ago…

– by inviting me to dwell in His shelter

– by teaching me who He is

– by writing this truth on my heart – I will forever be protected by Him.

Long ago, He prepared you …

– by inviting you to dwell in His shelter

– by teaching you who He is

– by writing this truth on your heart – you will forever be protected by Him.

Lord, we confess we sometimes forget to trust you and we become fearful. Help us with our unbelief. We thank you Lord – we belong to you, we are your children. Because we have been made righteous by the sacrifice of your Son, we are privileged to dwell in Your Presence today, tomorrow and for all eternity. We praise you El Shaddai, with all of our hearts, all of our mind, and all of our strength. Amen.

Thanks for today’s post, it helped me put some things in perspective while I was journaling this morning.
He has been with me from day one (19 months ago) supplying for all my needs.I turn to him daily to push me forward and trust that what happens in this next year will count for something more than dates and events on a calendar, but a change of heart, direction, and a renewed purpose that only comes from God. When we ask Him to make it count and trust that He will make it count.
